The reason why Windows won’t let you shrink the volume is as the message shown in Disk Management suggested, because there are immovable system files at the very end of the volume, as this screenshot from utility shows us. I've googled solutions for all of these things and if anything things have gotten worse. I can't restore the whole HDD because it's not backed up (yeah I know it's dumb). What can I do? I can't access windows so I can't run PerfectDisk or any external defrag tools. I ran a defrag diagnostic and it says there's no need to defrag - lists free space at 125 GB and largest file space size at around 4GB. So I'm trying to partition my HDD and install windows onto the new partition, but while I have 128GB free space (according to shrink querymax) running the shrink command I'm getting this 'there's no free space' prompt. Oh and I've run chkdsk and everything is apparently rather healthy.

I've been told there's an error with WindowsTrustedRT.sys, and also that there's some fuckery with the BCD files (which I haven't been able to repair).

Nothing works, system restore does shit all, can't open from recovery file (don't have one, apparently), I've tried FixBoot, using two different recovery drives, etc. So a week or so ago my computer crashed and when I tried to reboot I got stuck in an infinite system repair loop.
